Ham Radio Club

Purpose

For over 20 years, the MMA Amateur Radio Club has provided students with the equipment and opportunity to pursue the hobby of HAM radio. The Ham Radio Shack is located on campus and has everything from handheld radios, to local VHF capable radios, to desktop HF radio rigs capable of communicating with other amateur radio operators thousands of miles away. Please consider joining the MMA Amateur Radio Club if you have an interest in: general HAM Radio, getting your HAM radio license, communicating locally using mountaintop repeaters and handheld radios, or communicating globally with our ham shack HF radio equipment. Additional club activities include: outdoor HAM radio field days, emergency and grid-down communications, ship to shore communications, CW morse code training, digital mobile radio and hotspot technology, and a large variety of equipment demonstrations for beginners to seasoned operators.
