Regimental Induction Ceremony
The path to becoming a Midshipman at Maine Maritime Academy starts with the first step, Regimental Preparatory Training (RPT). After RPT, the Midshipmen Under-Guidance (MUGs) begin classes while continuing to be taught and guided by their training cadre through MUG training. The finale of this intense, focused training is comprised of inter and intra- company competitions and culminates with the MUGs taking the Oath of Midshipmen at our Regimental Induction Ceremony. From that point on, they are 4th Class Midshipmen and will focus on their next phase at Maine Maritime Academy.
This year’s Regimental Induction Ceremony will take place on Monday, 8 November 2021 at 4:30 p.m.
During the Regimental Induction Ceremony, the Class of 2025 will conduct a March-On and take the Oath of Midshipmen. This ceremony officially marks the end of MUG training as the Class of 2025 will be welcomed into the Regiment as 4/C Midshipmen!
The Regimental Induction Ceremony will be open to family and friends who wish to attend and will be documented through photos and videos that will be uploaded to MMA’s website and social media pages for those who cannot attend in person. Weather permitting, the event will occur on MMA’s Ritchie Field.
The MUG Class of 2025’s first opportunity to leave campus will be during Indigenous People’s Day weekend in October. The MUG’s will have liberty at the conclusion of their academic day on Friday, October 8th. Liberty continues until Tuesday, October 12 at 6:45 a.m. unless students have classes or assigned duties that require an earlier return. There will be a room and personnel inspection on Tuesday morning, October 12 starting at 7:00 a.m.
