The Maine Maritime Academy Sponsor Family Program offers members of the Castine and other local communities the opportunity to meet students and become an integral part of the support of our students. The goals of the program are to provide students with additional support, mentorship, and knowledge of the local community, as well as providing a home away from home.

Castine families enjoy attending sporting events, inviting students for dinner, providing transportation, and much more! Overall, the program is structured to give students exposure to the local area and to make their integration into Academy life easier.

Each year, both students and families complete the online application form, providing their specific interests that will allow MMA to match them based on those interests. During the fall, we will have a gathering to introduce all students with their sponsor families.
