You Belong Here

When you apply to MMA, you join a global community and a collegiate family that is spread across the globe. As a student, you will bring a unique set of skills, interests, and knowledge with you to Castine. We believe that this is our strength. During your time here, you will have many new opportunities to share your passions and explore new areas of interest, on campus and in the community. Whether you are interested in sports, social justice, academic support, leadership opportunities, or exciting extracurricular activities, MMA is the place for you.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At MMA, we are committed to productive conversation and positive growth. The values of integrity, honesty, accountability, and equality are the foundation of our institutional mission. As ‘Mariners,’ we look out for each other and care for one another; while our campus community may seem small, our collective reach is great. As our students, alumni, faculty, and staff travel the world, our collective actions travel with them.

We can encourage broad change by living our values, and by listening to others to gain a better understanding of their unique lived experiences and aspirations. Creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive campus is an ongoing effort and we are proud to continue this work with you and on your behalf.

Better, Together

The strength of our community depends on our ability to find a place, and a purpose, in Castine. Whether you join an athletics team, volunteer with the local fire department, or tutor your peers, you can create meaningful change at MMA.

Get Involved

MMA offers many ways to be involved, including student clubs like the Schooner Crew, Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA), and the Woodsmen Club; professional organizations like Society of Naval Architects & Marine Engineers (SNAME) or Women on the Water; and leadership opportunities in the Regiment of Midshipmen and Mariner Athletics.

And remember, campus activities change as student interests change. If you’d like to start a new club or program, we can help. Make your mark at MMA!
