At the start of the pandemic, Norm noted the need for additional student IT support while student needs for consistent technological support grew. He developed and advocated for a plan to set up a remote tech session in the study hall of Curtis and implemented the plan quickly.

That translated into a near-seamless change to the way we support our students, allowing them to have one-on-one sessions without leaving Curtis Hall or interacting in person with our techs. The setup has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students who appreciate the ability to safely discuss their tech issues without having to leave the building. I don’t think the impact of this station can be overstated, especially in helping to relieve the pressures that broken technology with due dates and deadlines can cause. His dedication to supporting our students through the pandemic is why I believe Norm deserves this award.
