Today has been packed full of activity and excitement aboard Bowdoin. The crew spent the morning ashore in Burgeo and then got the ship underway bound for the fjord of Grey River. There was a good sailing breeze, so the crew got to work setting sail as the ship departed Burgeo. The sail down to Grey River took about three hours, so Captain McLean took the opportunity to have a class covering sailing maneuvers and terminology, as well as an overview of the expected weather for the next few days.
Bowdoin and her crew are sitting snug at anchor after a great passage into Grey River. The entrance and scenery in this massive fjord are spectacular.
Once the ship was secure at anchor the crew had the opportunity to hike to the top of the 1,000-foot mountains that call this coast home. What a view and what a great way to end a beautiful day.
