Bound for Newfoundland

Posted on: June 15, 2018

The crew woke up early today to clearing conditions and made the ship ready to get underway for a 170nm passage across the Cabot Strait to Newfoundland. With the wind from the North the crew were able to set sail at anchor to sail the ship off the anchor and out of the harbor without using the engine! This serves as great proof of how far the crew has come in their sail handling skills. Lots of coordination and sail-handling skills are required to sail off the anchor, and this crew made the ship look good as we cruised out of the harbor under full sail.
