Bio

David W. Sorich, Associate Professor of Business, teaches Economics, Logistics, and Strategy courses in Maine Maritime's Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics graduate and undergraduate programs. Dr. Sorich brings a unique educational and work background to his position.​

​After receiving his B. S. in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, he was commissioned into the U.S. Navy, where he served for nine years as a Supply Officer. He served on the submarine U.S.S. Bluefish (SSN-675), the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72), and overseas at Commander Naval Activities, United Kingdom. While in the U.K., he earned his M.B.A. from the London Business School.​

Upon completing his service, Dr. Sorich worked at Staples Inc. and served in various roles; focus areas included operations and project management. He even earned his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification while there. His most recent work experience was as an Instructor at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut and the Manchester Community College. In addition, he earned his Doctorate of Business Administration from Temple University's Fox School of Business.​

Dr. Sorich enjoys spending time on long road trips with his family when he's not in the classroom!
