As of today, March 6, Maine has no confirmed cases for 2019-nCoV.  However, we have received guidance from the CDC and local health authorities on instructions to provide if students are concerned that they may be ill with the virus.

If you have traveled out of state recently or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with the COVID-19 virus and get sick with fever (100.4 F or higher) or cough, or have trouble breathing:

  • Seek medical care.  Call ahead before visiting the Health Center (326-2305), your doctor’s office or an emergency room.  Medical staff will ask you questions and properly prepare for your arrival.
  • Tell your health care provider about your recent travel and your symptoms.
  • Avoid contact with others.

If you have not traveled out of state and have not been exposed but feel ill, please visit the Health Center, your doctor’s office or the emergency room.  Do not attend classes if you are ill; please contact your faculty and the Dean of Student Services, Deidra.Davis@mma.edu to inform them of your absence.

In the meantime, please continue to practice general hygiene and build your immunity by washing your hands frequently and thoroughly, avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands, getting enough sleep, and avoiding close contact with those who are sick.
