Email: james.bernard@mma.eduJim, originally from Falmouth, Maine, has built an impressive career spanning education, real estate, and project management. After graduating high school, he moved to Austin, Texas, to study English Literature at the University of Texas. Following his undergraduate studies, Jim transitioned into real estate finance in Dallas and earned an MBA from Southern Methodist University. Leveraging his education and experience, he co-founded an urban construction and development company, where he served as Chief Financial Officer before returning to Maine full-time in 2020.
Since settling in Castine, Jim has continued to expand his professional and academic achievements. He completed an MSc in Major Program Management at the University of Oxford in the UK and established a consultancy specializing in managing large-scale and complex projects. In addition to his professional endeavors, Jim is dedicated to community service, having become an EMT and a firefighter in the Castine Fire Rescue Department. His diverse experiences and commitment to both professional excellence and civic engagement make him a valuable addition to our academy.
Outside of the classroom and regardless of the season, Jim spends as much time as possible scuba diving Maine's coastal and inland waterways.
