Anchor Off the Island of Niapiskau

Posted on: July 6, 2017

We made our next anchorage around lunch today after a wonderful night of beautiful stars and good sailing. We dropped our 500 lb anchor in 30 ft. of water off the Island of Niapiskau. This island which is part of the National Parks Canada offers beautiful hiking trails and tall pancake rocks which the crew was able to get ashore to explore in the evening. This beautiful off-the-beaten-path spot was a great place to get the ship ready for her second port appearance this summer in Havre St Pierre.

The crew polishes the brass, tars the rigging, and touches up the paint to make sure that we present Bowdoin as the beautiful historical ship that she is.
