Scott Eaton is an Assistant Research Professor of Engineering and joined the Faculty in 2015. He received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 2006 and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maine in 2015.

Scott specializes in fuel chemistry and internal combustion systems with an emphasis on alternative fuel chemical processing and clean combustion strategies. He holds a joint appointment with the Marine Engine Testing and Emissions Laboratory (METEL) where he actively conducts research aimed at reducing the environmental footprint and cost of maritime operations.

Scott is currently the lead instructor for Thermal/Fluid Laboratory courses where he uses his experience to help educate the next generation of marine engineering leaders.
