Research

In addition to classroom education, MMA students have opportunities to work alongside world-class research faculty on projects such as low-emissions biofuels development and testing, wind turbine design, tidal and wave hydrokinetic devices, ocean studies research, such as food web dynamics related to climate change, and many other topics. These research opportunities enhance hands-on application of fundamentals learned in the classroom. In addition to academic research opportunities with faculty, students are encouraged to seek summer research positions where appropriate. The Center for Applied Research and Education (CARE) supports faculty, staff and students in seeking and administering funding for research grants, contracts, and other extramural funding.
