Today the second crew of firefighting training departed early in the morning to head out while the remaining midshipmen went about preparations to return to sea once more. These departure preparations include checking signals such as the horns and general alarm bells. By the time 1700 rolled around, students all had returned to the ship and the gangway was raised. At 1720 the tug boats arrived to move the TSSOM off the pier and the lines were dropped by 1730. Shortly after this, the training ship was underway once more and the pilot was returned to his retrieval boat by the same ladder that was used to board when arriving in the port. Thunderstorms followed the stern as we began our journey south once more towards Cuba and the Florida Keys to pass through the islands before turning Northbound to New York Harbor.
