Today, we are getting ready to head offshore and undertake the passage to Nova Scotia. The crew reviewed offshore safety procedures and learned how to reef Bowdoin’s main sail.
Students also got a chance to continue work on their celestial navigation skills and used a sextant to calculate the vessels latitude by local apparent noon.
Happily, it looks like we’re in for some good weather for the passage!
