With good wind and a skillful crew, the ship sailed into her anchorage near Lunenburg and dropped the anchor without any help from the engine. Bowdoin sailed wing and wing (sailing dead downwind with fore and main sails on different sides of the ship) into the anchorage at Rose Bay. We crept into the anchorage at a steady 2 knots and enjoyed an afternoon of sailing the ship’s small boat that was built by students at the waterfront.
