Rachel Borisko and Brendan Kerivan were awarded scholarships from the Quahog Bay Conservancy, a nonprofit based in Harpswell, ME. The scholarships are in support of their senior research projects. Every Ocean Studies major is required to take a two-semester sequence of classes where they develop and execute an independent research project. Rachel is developing an ethogram for assessing agonistic interactions in octopus. Brendan is examining paleo-pollen samples to reconstruct past climate in a local salt marsh.
