Professor Jessie Muhlin is the Principal Investigator on a successful Maine Economic Improvement Fund – Small Campus Initiative proposal.  Together with Stefan Claesson (Nearview, LLC), Hannah Webber (Schoodic Institute), Catherine Mitchell and Nichole Price (Bigelow Laboratories for Ocean Sciences) and Peter Nelson (UMaine at Fort Kent), Prof. Muhlin has been awarded $130,000 for a project entitled “Development of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) survey methods for statewide mapping, classification, and biomass estimation of the intertidal seaweeds Ascophyllum nodosum and Fucus vesiculosus”
