Professor Ann Cleveland presents research at NARST conference

Professor Ann Cleveland recently presented her research at the NARST (National Association for Research in Science Teaching) conference virtually. NARST is an international organization for improving science teaching and learning through research, and they sponsor annual conferences and a journal (Journal of Research in Science Teaching).

Prof. Cleveland’s research is examining how faculty in introductory biology courses conceptualize and implement quantitative reasoning (QR) in their courses. She is looking not only at how faculty conceptualize/define QR but is also asking what challenges they face in providing it and what pedagogical strategies they use to teach it.
