Maggie MacMahon, a junior in the Marine Bio/SVO program, was recently awarded the Women Divers Hall of Fame scholarship! Of the award, Maggie says: “The Women Divers Hall of Fame is a nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and raising awareness of the contributions of women divers to the world. The undergraduate marine research grant will help financially propel my goals for my senior research project. This summer, I will be working with small, nocturnal octopuses to determine their prey preference and burrowing patterns in Anacortes, WA. I feel very honored and humbled to receive this award and am excited about the future diving and research I will be able to conduct because of it.” Congratulations Maggie!
