Visitor Parking

As a visitor of Maine Maritime Academy, it is our hope that your parking experience is a pleasant one.  There are several options when it comes to visitor parking.  Maine Maritime Academy offers 2-hour visitor parking for individuals that are visiting campus.  These spaces are identified by parking signs and their locations are illustrated on our campus parking map. MMA faculty, staff and students are not allowed to park in the visitor parking spaces at any time and will be subject to a parking citation. If you have an MMA ID number, you are required to register your vehicles in the software and obtain a permit to park on MMA property. MMA visitors may park in these spaces while they visit campus without a permit. There is no overnight parking available in these spaces. All vehicles must leave by 2 am, or be subject to citations. If the designated visitor parking spaces are full, or if a visitor will stay longer than 2 hours, they are encouraged to park on Pleasant Street, Main Street or at Fort George, or obtain a visitor parking permit through Campus Safety located in Windlass House or at the information desk located in Quick Hall.  This permit will allow a visitor to park on campus in a predetermined parking lot that will be indicated on the visitor permit for the day.

2-hour Visitor Spaces: MMA has 2-hour visitor parking spaces located near Leavitt Hall, Wyman House, Athletics, ABS, and Curtis Hall.  Visitors who park longer than two hours in these spaces will be subject to a parking citation.

Admissions Visitor Parking:  There are four parking spaces located in the Leavitt Hall parking lot designated as Admissions Visitor Parking.  These spaces are for prospective MMA students and their family members visiting Admissions for a scheduled tour.

Overnight Guests of Students: Overnight guests of Maine Maritime Academy students living on campus (in Curtis Hall, Leavitt Hall and Grad Commons) are required to register with Residential Life as an overnight guest prior to 11 pm the night they are staying and obtain a visitor parking permit at the front desk of Curtis Hall prior to parking on campus.  These permits will be issued through Residential Life and will be valid for up to 72 hours.  Overnight guests of students living on campus will park their vehicles in the Commuter section of the Stevens Street parking lot and properly display their overnight guest permit.  MMA students may not obtain a “guest permit” for their personal vehicle. The host student is responsible for their guest’s actions and behavior during their stay. Guests who are not staying overnight must depart the residence halls by 11 pm.  Failure to register an overnight guest will result in disciplinary action. Guests who violate any Academy policy, rules or regulations may be asked to depart Academy property immediately
