Faculty and senior officers began their day as they do every day with a meeting at 0800. Later on, faculty joined cadets for an ‘Enclosed Space Entry’ training conducted by CM McGourthy. After lifeboat lowering training with 2M Gardiner we began to prepare for our departure from Port Canaveral; cadets went through the pre-departure checklist, heaved anchor, and readied themselves for real time coastal navigation training.

We are now heading south for additional training opportunities but will change course tomorrow, July 10, to proceed towards the Charleston area.

Winds are SW, Force 4, with 4-foot seas.
