The day started off relatively calm though training cycle five continued strong with Charlie at the steering gear.
During this training evolution, each student had a turn at the steering gear with one professor giving instruction on how to use the interface, and the other performing sound-driven communication with the bridge. This is perhaps the most reliable of distanced communication on a ship, well pre-dating the training ship and her crew. During this, the speaker has to turn a crank to ring a bell on the receiving end before communication can occur similar to a handheld radio.
Due to the Training Ship’s limited connectivity to the internet, blog postings are delayed and are not intended for real-time communication. To communicate with your student, please send messages to his or her issued e-mail address.
