Ideal Location

Maine Maritime Academy is located on a 35-acre campus overlooking Penobscot Bay in historic Castine, Maine. You’ll have easy access to water activities and to outdoor adventures at nearby Acadia National Park, Baxter State Park, and the Appalachian Trail.

Summer Co-Op

Put what you’ve learned in the classroom to work in the global economy through a 12-week summer field experience with a professional company anywhere in the world. Through this hands-on experience, you’ll explore careers, grow your knowledge, and gain exposure to international logistics.

Maine Maritime provides opportunities to gain experience in global commerce. Through this international business and logistics degree you’ll develop the ability to study, analyze, and evaluate the flow of goods, customer service, finance, and information from suppliers to consumers worldwide.

Through hands-on experiences, such as your summer co-op, internships in the United States and in places like Germany, Netherlands, and Costa Rica, field experience, service learning, and research projects, you’ll develop the skills, knowledge, and ethics you need to launch your career and succeed in the global economy.

Real-world logistics lab

At the logistics lab at Maine Maritime, you’ll simulate a production line, warehouse operation, and inventory system, going beyond the classroom and textbooks to work directly with the equipment and software systems you’ll use in the real world. By simulating the supply chain and manufacturing environments, you’ll already know about common logistics issues before you launch your career, giving you a leg up on your competition for jobs.

Regiment of Midshipmen

A unique aspect of Maine Maritime Academy is the Regiment of Midshipmen, a uniformed student body. While you’re not required to participate in the Regiment as an international business and logistics major, many students do so they can develop time management, leadership, teamwork, and other capabilities valued in the workplace. Through the Regiment you can also increase your self-confidence and self-discipline and make lifelong friendships.

What Can You Do With an International Business and Logistics Degree?

With this versatile logistics degree you’ll be prepared for a wide range of business careers as well as specific positions in logistics and supply chain management, such as supply chain manager, operations manager, logistics analyst, transportation manager, and import/export analyst. Our graduates work at domestic and international companies, including Amazon, Boeing, Exxon-Mobil, Kiewit, Pepsi, Raytheon, and Walt Disney Company. You can also go on to earn your master’s degree in international logistics management at Maine Maritime or to pursue graduate studies at another institution.

Employment of logisticians is projected to grow 5% through 2028, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, making this one of the best times to pursue international business and logistics jobs.
