CASTINE, Maine—Maine Maritime Academy’s schooner Bowdoin, a National Historic Landmark and the Official Vessel of the State of Maine, will be home to two groups of students in the Vessel Operations and Technology program this summer. Students will be sailing coastwise and offshore as part of sail training courses during which they learn to navigate and maintain the vessel to fulfill degree requirements and competencies toward a U.S. Coast Guard limited license.
Free Exhibitions Open to the Public June 10-14
CASTINE, Maine – The International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA) will be hosting the 37th annual Guild School at Maine Maritime Academy from June 9-15. Free exhibitions for the public will be held June 10-13 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on June 14 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at the Smith Gymnasium.Read More…

CASTINE, Maine—Maine Maritime Academy students, officers, and crew will depart Castine on Thursday, May 10 at approximately 1:00 p.m. on the Training Ship State of Maine (TSSOM) for the annual training evolution to foreign and domestic ports of call. CASTINE, Maine—The 2018 Commencement will be held at Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday, May 5 at 11 a.m. at the Alexander Field House. Maritime Administrator, Rear Adm. Mark H. Buzby, USN, Ret. will be the college’s Commencement speaker.
Rear Adm. Buzby was sworn in as Maritime Administrator on August 8, 2017 following appointment by the President and confirmation by the U.S. Senate. Prior to his appointment, Buzby served as president of the National Defense Transportation Association, a position he held after retiring from the U.S. Navy in 2013 with over 34 years of service.Read More…

CASTINE, Maine—At a banquet held on Monday, March 26, the Maine Maritime Academy Regimental Awards recognized students for their strength of character, seamanship, and overall leadership on campus.
