Remarks:

We will have 5 US COAST GUARD ACADEMY cadets joining us for part of the day on Monday while in Portland.  1/C Sydney Underhill-Tilton is coordinating their visit. They will arrive at 0930 and be with us through lunch. Please reach out to 1/C Underhill Tilton if you are interested in showing one or more of these cadets around our ship and filling them in on what we do.  The goal is to give them a better understanding of what we do and for you to get a better understanding of their experiences.  The better we understand each other the better we can work together once out in the “Real World”.

Nautical term of the day:

Nantucket Sleigh Ride: the dragging of a whaleboat by a harpooned whale while whaling. It is an archaic term from the early days of industrial whaling.
