May 25^th, we arrived in Ponta Delgada. The winding cobbled streets of the city welcomed us to explore, and our timing proved to be perfect for seeing the festival lights on the final night of Ascension on the 26^th.

Students and crew enjoyed scenic mountain views, four-wheeler expeditions, hikes halfway across the island and back, hot springs, and volcanic crater lakes! From incredible (and inexpensive!) cuisine, to nature reserves, São Miguel was the perfect place to visit, though nobody would have been upset if we had to stay.
