Today, midshipmen woke up to a wonderful view of the soaring Icelandic peaks. It truly feels like the edge of the world. At about 0930 whales were spotted off the starboard side of the ship, and both students and crew stopped what they were doing to watch them breach! At 1600, we had a bluenose ceremony for officially crossing into the Arctic Circle, followed by an indoor barbeque where students ditched the uniforms and enjoyed great food.
