The weather has gotten significantly colder than the long-distant Fort Lauderdale, Florida heat. While the ship’s AC is normally quite potent, it is doubly so above and around the Arctic Circle. The engineers in Alpha Company had to grab a blanket to stay warm on their training day yesterday.
Today is Charlie’s fourth day of watch, and they will be on through tomorrow until they are relieved by Bravo Company on our second day in port.
Alongside Charlie’s four days of watch, today is Delta’s fourth day of maintenance. In the afternoon they tested lifeboat engines and prepped the ship for arrival in Iceland by getting the mooring lines out for line handling tomorrow morning. All of us eagerly await our arrival in Reykjavik tomorrow morning.
