On May 21, we finally pulled into Vigo, Spain, after 12 days at sea. After crossing the Atlantic, it was great to walk off the gangway and onto terra firma for shore leave!
On our first day in Vigo, a group of Midshipmen visited the Spanish Naval Academy; they toured the campus and learned a great deal about maritime education in Spain. We also had some time to explore the city, meet locals, and take in the sights. Throughout our stay, the weather has been wonderful – warm and sunny but with a nice breeze to keep us cool.
After three days in port, we cast off our lines, bound this time for Barcelona.
