This morning we woke up to the sight of land as we transmitted through the Azores, which was welcomed by all. This transit gave the 2/C Deck students a great opportunity to work on some terrestrial navigation as well as Rules of the Road while standing watch on the Bridge. We are still making progress towards the Straight of Gibraltar and Mediterranean Sea. Today is a beautiful day with calm seas and a light breeze. Alpha is on Maintenance, Bravo is on Utility, Charlie is on training and Delta is on watch. Overall there is something in the air today, perhaps due to seeing land, that seems to have lifted everyone’s spirits no matter what the task at hand was.
