2016 Summer Training Cruise

Day 49: Underway again

Posted on: June 23, 2016

Location: Portsmouth Departure
Weather: Clear      Wind: 8 kts S         Seas: Gentle Swell
Alpha: Watch       Bravo: Utility       Charlie: Maintenance       Delta: Training

Students and crew alike are glad to be underway again, especially the juniors, who are just beginning their cruise. The ship got underway without a hitch, Charlie Company releasing the mooring lines and keeping anchor watch until we left the channel. A beautiful sunny afternoon was complemented with a gentle, rolling swell, allowing midshipmen to get their sea-legs back after an extended port stay. Anticipation is building for some foul weather in the near future, and everyone on board is busy ensuring that their gear is stowed for sea.
