Our first full day underway brings us another day closer to home, and to our first opportunity to bring our clocks back an hour and gain an hour of sleep. While the freshmen use the opportunity to sleep, many juniors are using the extra time to finish up complex thermodynamics projects (for the engineers), and extensive celestial navigation work (for the deckies). Deck maintenance was out on the fantail stowing mooring lines and scrubbing the deck, while the engineers tested lube oil to make sure the ship’s diesel engines are running properly.
