Day 44: Engine Maintenance

Alpha had the watch today navigating the ship off the coast of Corse. On maintenance today there was work on ship service diesel generator number 1 (SSDG1) which is one of 3 generators onboard. It was discovered late in the night that there was an air leak in one of the start air lines. Engine maintenance completed the fix and fired up the generator following. Deck maintenance continued work on repainting the bow and winches 1-3. Charlie company had utility today taking care of the freshly waxed floors done by student workers overnight. Delta Company had training and completed line handling part two including a tug boat skill (Pictured) known as “throwing the eye”. Countdown to Civitavecchia is only two days away!
