2018 Summer Training Cruise

Day 57: Onto the Atlantic

Posted on: July 2, 2018

It is yet another beautiful day in the Atlantic Ocean as we now have fully escaped the sight of land. We are now off on our 11-day hitch to Eastport, Maine! Today during training 4/C Alpha Company had their low-visibility fire and rescue training. They also were the first company to have their watch exam, which is an essential part of their watch grade for cruise. Bravo Company was on watch today. As we cross the Atlantic we are now only monitoring our position using celestial navigation as opposed to GPS fixes. Charlie Company worked on the overall ship maintenance, while Delta company was on utility keeping the ship clean and tidy. Students are now looking forward to the 4th of July, where we will have a cornhole tournament, along with a cookout held by Sodexo!
