Happy Valentine’s Day from Bowdoin!

The yard finished removing planks this week and began cutting new frame sections to replace the old. Most of the bottom is opened up are we are now able to fully access the frame sections that need replacement and repair. Concrete removal continues in several frame bays and the crew will soon be able to access the frame crossovers where new frame sections will be placed.

Since this stage of work is nearly complete, we can now begin the process of putting the vessel back together again.  The shipwrights have begun making patterns of the old frames and started cutting out new frames from beautiful live oak slabs that were donated to this project.
