Thomas W. Trundy ’96

Thomas W. Trundy, 53, died unexpectedly at his home in Houston, Texas, Friday, April 6. He was born in Bangor on March 7, 1965, to David and Betsy Nichols Trundy. He graduated from Mt. Blue High School in 1983 and went on to Maine Maritime Academy, where he earned his degree in marine engineering.

Tom loved to go to deer camp in the fall with his friends. He loved to cook and take food to the union hall when he was in port and feed the youngsters who needed a home-cooked meal. He also loved to go to his favorite camp in Round Pond, where he could sit and contemplate life and watch the grass grow.

Tom loved life and people and was always happy to sit and chat. He had one of those personalities that filled a room.

Tom is survived by his wife, Yolanda; six children, Tara, Benjamin, Stephanie, Ashlee, Christin and Xavier; his parents; a brother, Michael, and his wife, Leslie, of Bath; a sister, Kristen, and her husband, Wayne, of Lewiston; and a brother, Matthew, and his wife, Deanna, of Madison. Survivors also include nephews, Thomas and Brendon; and nieces, Elena, Ashley and Lexie.
