Richard M. Mayo ’72
WATERVILLE – Richard “Dick” Maurice Mayo, 54, of Waterville passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004, at MaineGeneral Medical Center. Dick was born Oct. 26, 1949, in Waterville, the son of Maurice and Irene (Rodrigue) Mayo.
Dick attended Sacred Heart Grammar School through the eighth grade, graduated from Waterville High in June 1968, and from Maine Maritime Academy in April 1972.
As an engineer for American Trading and Transport, he traveled worldwide. He later worked as a boiler engineer at Pease Air Base. He especially enjoyed his cats and his camp in Skowhegan.
He is survived by two sisters, Patricia A. (Mayo) and her husband, Charles Brown, of North Vassalboro, and Susan M. Mayo of Farmington, N.H.; a brother, Timothy B. Mayo of Oakland and West Palm Beach, Fla.; two nieces, two grandnieces, two uncles, an aunt, many cousins, and a special friend, Millie Conklin.
Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Grove Street in Waterville.
