Phillip L. Chaples ’53

Phillip Lloyd Chaples, 85, was born in Milo, Maine. He is a graduate of the Maine Maritime Academy. Phillip retired from the U.S. Army Transportation Corps at Ft. Dix, NJ as a Major with 22 years of service.
He is survived by his two sisters, Joanne Essancy and Marylou Drake (Mark); his brother, Peter Chaples; his children, Karen Saul (Harold), Kevin Chaples, Mike Chaples (Anne), and Kim Chaples; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his dog, Dixie. A Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00pm on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Weymouth Funeral Home. A Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will follow at 2:00pm Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Peninsula Memorial Park.
