Peter A. Pasquine, Jr. ’69

Peter A. Pasquine Jr., 67, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born June 13, 1945, in Millinocket, the son of Peter A. and Geraldine E. (Healey) Pasquine.

Peter grew up in Millinocket and was a graduate of Stearns High School, class of 1963. He participated in football and basketball in high school. After high school, he attended Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He worked as a Merchant Marine for more than 40 years, retiring in 2008, having worked most recently for American Seafood as chief engineer. Peter traveled to all parts of the globe and greatly enjoyed his time in his career. His “down time” and retirement gave him opportunity to spend time at his camp on South Twin Lake, and his home in Florida, where he enjoyed the company of Cliff and Lynne Haseltine. He was very proud of his Italian heritage, and especially enjoyed family gatherings and eating Italian food. Peter was an avid motorcyclist, and enjoyed vehicles of all kinds, especially his Corvette.

Peter is survived by his fiancee and best friend, Donna Duffy of East Millinocket; two children, Peter A. Pasquine III of Danvers, Mass., and Jayme Pasquine of New London, Conn.; two sisters, Brenda O’Shea and her husband, Edmund, of Danvers, Mass., and Catherine Steeves and her husband, Ernest, of Old Town; four grandchildren, Caitlyn, Coran, Christian and Desiree; two nieces, Michelle and Courtney Steeves; Donna’s children, Scott and Jason Duffy and their families; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his wife and mother of his children, Sally (White) Pasquine.
