Paul R. Day ’70

GRAY – Paul Richard “Ricky” Day, 71, born Sept. 13, 1947 in Portland to the late Mary Ellen Feeney Day and the late Paul R. Day passed peacefully forward from his home in Gray on Aug. 23, 2018.

Paul was raised in Deering Center in Portland and graduated from Deering High School 1966. He graduated from Maine Maritime Academy in 1970 and was in the Merchant Marine industry at American Officers Association until retiring in 2014.

Paul lived an adventurous life living in Portland, Duluth Minn., Kingfield, Honolulu, Hawaii and The Netherlands before retiring to Gray. “Little Ricky Day” made friends wherever he went. He loved to be surrounded in a crowd where he most always was the center. He will be sadly missed by his immediate and extended family. His wish to be cremated will be honored.
Paul is survived by his daughters, Anissa Mary Day and Adrienna Day Lund and husband Nicholas; his grandson, Oliver; and brothers, J. Kevin Day and Brian E. Day. Paul loved engineering, auto repair, wood carving and gardening. F.W.E.

Friends and family may pay respects at the service, on Tuesday, Aug. 28 from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Windham Chapel of Dolby, Blais & Segee, 434 River Road, Windham.
