Robert J. McKenna ’77

Robert “Bob” McKenna, age 63, formerly of Cape Elizabeth, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, September 19, 2017. Bob loved his family, friends and all he encountered in life and we were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from him, among them: life is short, be a loyal friend and always keep in touch, those phone calls will surely be missed.

He was born May 29, 1954, was a graduate of Cape Elizabeth High School in 1973 and received his BS degree in Marine Engineering from Maine Maritime Academy in 1977.

Proceeded in death by his parents Joe and Marilyn, survived by his love of his life and wife Regina; stepdaughter who he considered his own Karen; and brothers Michael of Yarmouth, ME, Vincent and Daniel of Sarasota, FL.

A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 4:00pm Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Bayside Community Church – Sarasota Campus, 8200 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, FL 34241.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that friends may make memorial contributions to Maine Maritime Academy Annual Fund Scholarship program; 1 Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, ME 04421-9988.
