Keith W. Kelsey ’88

Captain Keith W. Kelsey of Killingworth, formerly of Branford, passed away peacefully on May 25th surrounded by his family in CT Hospice. Keith was the loving and devoted husband of Alexis Marinucci Kelsey.
He was born Dec. 20, 1966 in New Haven, son of William and Jane Clay Kelsey of Branford. Devoted father of two sons, Spencer W. Kelsey and Mitchell B. Kelsey. Brother of Stephanie Kelsey Reynolds of East Haven and Nikki Kelsey of Guilford. Also survived by a large extended family and many friends.
Keith is a graduate of Maine Maritime Academy, where he received a B.S. Degree in Marine Transportation and Nautical Science. His career accomplishments included achieving the title Captain/Master in the US Merchant Marine. For the past decade, he worked as a ship pilot with Northeast Pilots out of Newport, RI, and also a member of Boston Marine Society. Keith was an active member of the Killingworth Republican Town Committee and also served as the Chairman for the Killingworth Board of Education.
A memorial service will be held at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford on Thursday, May 30th at 8 pm. Friends may call prior to the services at the Guilford Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm.
