Jeffrey A. McMann ’69
WESTBROOK – Jeffrey Albert McMann, 68, died Sunday, July 12 peacefully in his sleep in Wisconsin, where he has resided the last seven years near family. He was born in Bath on Dec.12, 1946, a son of the late Albert and Evelyn (Plummer) McMann.
After graduating from Morse High School, Jeffrey went on to attend and graduate from Maine Maritime Academy. For the next 37 years, Jeffrey worked as a Merchant Marine retiring as a Chief Engineer in 2007.
He will always be remembered for his infectious laugh, the ability to have fun in any situation, his love of the ocean, the enjoyment he had while hunting, camping, motorcycling, hiking, and spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and previously a member of the Falmouth Rod and Gun Club.
Jeffrey is predeceased by his brother, Peter McMann and sisters, Linda and Gretchen McMann. He is survived by his three daughters, Margret “Beth” Cook and her husband Kenneth of Wisconsin, Susan Grant and her husband Jamie of Buxton, Kate Cote and her husband James of Lisbon; and six grandchildren, Kenny & Maryah Cook, Joshua and Alexis Grant, Sophia and Jacob Cote; and his previous wife and lifelong friend Jean (Henderson) McMann.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11 from 2-3 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. memorial service at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22), in Buxton. A private burial will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bath.
