James L. Booze ’82

James “Jay” Booze, 56, of Annapolis, MD passed away September 19, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016 at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, 1601 Pleasant Plains Rd., Annapolis, MD 21409.

Jay was born in Baltimore, MD on February 28, 1960 to Jo Ann “Twinkie” Nelson and Joseph “Bud” Booze. He graduated from Maine Maritime Academy to achieve rank of Captain and serve with his crew on tug boats. He later put aside his career for the love of his family and established, owned, and operated JLB Enterprise for 26 years. He had a big heart, some would say, “a heart of a puppy” and saved many dogs expanding, not only his, but the families of others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Patricia Ann Luers Booze; sons, Jason “GG” Booze and Robert “Fluffy” Booze; sister, Jody Booze Daniels and husband, Lee; and their sons Graham, and Cameron.

Special thanks to our extended family Brynn Lincoln, all of Hospice, his nurse Joan Stillinger, and the Paramedics of Cape St. Claire fire department.

In lieu of flowers, Jay requests donations may be made to Lab Rescue of L.R.C.P Inc. (www.lab-rescue.org/Jay), Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122, or American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
