David H. Williams ’61
David Henry Williams, 74, of Inverness, Florida passed away March 24, 2014 under the care of Hospice of Citrus County. He was born on March 8, 1940 in Norfolk, VA to the late Roger Hargreaves and Lois Evelyn (Hawes) Williams. David was a Master Mariner in the Merchant Marines and arrived in this area 20 years ago, coming from Yarmouth, ME. He was an Episcopal by faith, and was National Secretary-Treasurer for CAMM (Council of American Mariners), and Past President of the Maine Maritime Academy Alumni Association, and also taught computers for SCORE. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his loving wife of many years, Earlene Williams of Inverness. Other survivors include 2 sons, Edward Williams of Beaverton, OR., and Steven Williams of Portland, OR., daughter Kristen (Alex) Panamaroff of Fairbanks, AK.; brother John (Jannis) of Punta Gorda, FL.; sister Alicia Williams of Plymouth, MA., and 2 grandchildren Ryan and Elinore. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Monday, March 31, 11:00 A.M. at the Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness. Memorial donations may be made in David’s memory to Main Maritime Academy Association, Castine, Maine 04420 or SCORE at www.score.org in lieu of flowers.
