Capt. Peter A. Thorpe (Capt. Pete), passed away suddenly April 5, 2017.

Born April 12, 1945 in Boston, Massachusetts to James and Signa Thorpe, he grew up in Massachusetts and Maine. He graduated from Reading Memorial High School in 1963 continued on to Maine Maritime Academy, Castine, Maine, graduating in 1967.

Peter spend 30 years at sea, the last 20 years as Master. He came ashore in 1997. He continued his career as a marine surveyor until retirement in 2011.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie C. Thorpe, his daughter Abigail L. Thorpe, her husband Allan Clary, grandson Adam L. Thorpe Clary along with cousins, extended family and many friends.

On April 22, 2017 there will be a Memorial Service held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 4613 Hwy 3, Dickinson, Texas 77539 at 1:00 P.M.

In Lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in Pete’s memory to: Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and El Mina Shrine Transportation Corps, 3915 Cornell Park Court, Houston, Texas 77058.
