Bruce R. Poliquin ’72

AUBURN- Bruce Ronald Poliquin, 66, went to Heaven to
join many loved ones there waiting for him on Sunday July
26, 2015.
Bruce, the oldest of four children, was born on April 5, 1949
to Rudy and Georgette (Giguere) Poliquin in Lewiston,
He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1966 and
then from Maine Maritime Academy in 1971. In 1973, he
married Mary Ann Pawlow of Rochester, NY. In 1977,
Bruce and “Mimi” moved to Auburn where they spent the rest of their lives.
Bruce had a long and successful career as a Safety Engineer specializing in Paper
Mills, Woodlot operations and the construction industry, working for OSHA as
well as his own company, Maine Safety Consultants. Many working men and
women in Maine and New Hampshire owe their good health and sound bodies to
the safety programs he fought for and implemented in workplaces he was
responsible for.
He is survived by his sister Sandra Nadeau; his brother Greg Poliquin and his
wife Orette; his nephews Evan and Josh Poliquin, Scott Harriman and his
daughters Tianna and Ava; a niece Erica Robison and her daughters Malayka and
Bruce was predeceased by his wife of 30 years Mary Ann Poliquin. Since Mary
Ann’s death in 2010, Bruce suffered from a long illness. During that time he was
lovingly looked after and cared for by his two Goddaughters Erica Robison and
Cindy Blais-Doyle.
We’d like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the
Androscoggin Hospice House for their care and attention.
