Jeff Simpson, Assistant Professor of Business and International Logistics, teaches graduate and undergraduate programs at Maine Maritime's Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics. Professor Simpson brings an extensive educational and work background to his position. Upon graduating with his Marine Engineering Technology degree from MMA, he served as a ship's officer with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. After leaving federal service, he earned an M.A. in History and International Relations from Western Connecticut State University and an M.S. in International Logistics Management from Maine Maritime Academy. After obtaining his degrees, Jeff spent over 25 years working in various leadership and senior leadership positions within the global supply chain, logistics, and trade compliance roles in multiple Fortune 500 multinational corporations, including Unilever, Campbell's Soup Company, Pitney Bowes, and C.H. Robinson. Jeff has sat on numerous professional panels and advisory boards for various maritime, supply chain, and trade organizations and has extensively given public and private lectures regarding all aspects of international trade, global supply chains, and trade compliance.

In addition to Jeff's work experience and academic achievements, he also holds multiple professional licenses, including a United States Customs Broker License, U.S. Merchant Marine 3rd Assistant Engineer of Steam and Motor vessel Unlimited Horsepower, State of Maine Stationary Engineer, is a certified 6 Sigma Green Belt, Certificate in International Maritime Law through the United Nations International Maritime Organization, and is an certified mediator and negotiator.

While working in industry for many years, Jeff was an Adjunct Professor in the graduate program at Maine Maritime Academy in the Loeb Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics.
