Course Description
Prerequisites:
Students must have completed formal training in:

Terrestrial Navigation
-
Radar/ARPA for safe navigation and collision avoidance
They should also be proficient in personal computer use, have experience with visual navigation, and have completed supervised bridge watch-keeping duties.
Description
This course provides in-depth practice and demonstration of the required functions of ECDIS as the primary means of navigation for mariners performing duties as an Officer in Charge of a Navigation Watch (OICNW).

Operation, interpretation, and analysis of ECDIS data

Management of operational procedures, system files, and navigational data
